Happy Birthday Bouquet Card!

Well Hello Everyone!

As promised, I’m back with another card for the  Where Creativity meets C9 challenge!

If you missed my first card you can check it out HERE

Today, I’m sharing my ‘Happy Birthday Bouquet’ Card with you.

I started out by Embossing the Huge floral from Concord & 9th ‘Hello Lovely’ stamp set with White and Holographic embossing powders.

Then, layering a Lot of distress ink on the paper in several colors keeping the darkest color more in the center and away from the edges.

You can see the holographic embossing powder come though on this card above.  Soooo, beautiful!

This was my first time to use a large stamp like this and I have to say it was so much Fun~

This card has the white embossing powder and it’s striking!

After layering up the ink, I used a paint brush and some water to ‘paint’ the flowers and leaves taking up the color with a napkin and this results in a ‘bleaching’ effect!

And finally, I embossed a strip of vellum for my sentiment, using the  ‘happy birthday’ stamp from Concord & 9th ‘Enjoy it All‘ stamp set.

When I make cards I like to create multiples because I donate to Children’s Hospital and why not make a couple more…everything is already out anyway, right?!   And Concord & 9th stamps and dies are so fun to create with..I just can’t stop!

You still have time to enter this challenge .

See you soon.  Until then, “Stay Strong and Craft on”!

Hugs and Blessings,

Great job, Kim. I think this would also make a beautiful theme for a wedding table decoration – like a runner! These could also be used in a hospital gift shop – partial or all proceeds going to their fund raising. Just a thought. Congrats and continued good tidings in your artistic endeavors.

  16. Gina Fisher says:

Beautiful! I recently bought this stamp set and now I can’t stop using it! It is gorgeous white embossed on black cardstock! I understand the technique you used but am unclear as to how you got the edges to fade out so nicely? I understand that you used distress inks on watercolor paper, but how did the soft edges come to be? To me, they tie the card together. Please let me know how you did this! PS it’s gorgeous!

    • KimberlyRae says:

Hi Gina! Thank you so much for visiting here and your sweet words 🙂 I used a round blender tool from Tim Holtz and with the lighest color of blue just very lightly went over the white edges that were left. I blended the darker colors of blue in the middle and worked out. Hope this helps and have Fun with your new beautiful Concord & 9th Stamp set ox
