‘Treat Yo Self Happy’ Card Set!

Hello my crafty friends and happy weekend crafting ♥

I’m back with you today to share a set of happy, colorful and fun cards that I entered in the Ellen Hutson July Pin-Sights Challenge.

When I first laid eyes on the inspiration photo it just made me happy-happy and I knew right then I wanted to create something ‘happy’.  I just love all the bright colors and after all we should treat ourselves with some ‘happy’ ☼

My ‘Treat Yo Self Happy’ Card Set:

You know me,  I couldn’t just make ‘one’!  So, I made ‘five’ cards, in a splash of colors.  I used Distress inks, Squeezed Lemon, Twisted Citron, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Abandoned Coral and Peacock Feathers throughout my projects.

And if you know me even more, you know I love to shop at Ellen’s!  Of course, she’s local for me which could be dangerous…ha..well you know what I mean 😉  I’m Always greeted as soon as I open the door and Everyone is totally Friendly.   I just love that I can order and pick up my goodies usually the same day and it’s FREE Shipping!

Today, I used some of my favorite Ellen’s Essentials by Julie Ebersol called ‘Wonky Backdrops stamp set’ and ‘Treat Yo Self‘ die ♥

So, let’s get started…

For all the cards, I started embossing with the three lined circles from Wonky Backdrops  stamp set, but you can call them whatever Makes You Happy!  Candy…lime wedges…flowers….what’s yours?

Using my Misti tool, I tossed the circles all around and used anti-static tool and white embossing powder and embossed all the cards and set aside.

Then, I squished each color of ink on my  laminated white paper [my pallet…ha] and water colored each circle.  In this case, the two cards above I used Abandoned Coral and Peacock Feathers.

Then, I messy watercolored the background with Peacock Feathers.

Each card was set aside to dry.  I ended up cutting them down to 4 3/4″x 3  1/2″.

To make the sentiment, I used the ‘Treat Yo Self‘ die and cut some adhesive backed foam and some white cardstock.  Then, with each coordinating ink I colored the white cardstock die cuts and glued onto the foam.

Looking back, I should have just die cut the white cardstock  using a double-sided sheet and bamm it’s done and saves time!  HAHA  who’s looking back…onward forward…lol

Each card is adhered with the same fun foam I used for the sentiment with adhesive backing.  4 1/2″x 3 3/8″

I used neenah solar white cardstock for my cardbase which I took the distress mini cubes and ran them along the sides for a perfect ink match to the sentiments.

For some added detail and shine, I used wink of stella pen on the ‘Yo’!

I made matching envelopes, but putting them in my Misti, arranging the stamps and presto all done!

I really like how my card set turned out and think they would be great for teens at Children’s Hospital, a word of encouragement to someone in Hope House or an encouraging word to your loved ones.

‘Treat Yo Self’ and scoot on over to Ellen’s shop.  Right now, there’s a ‘Christmas in July’ 40% off sale going on, you won’t want to miss!

Lately, I’ve been on a creative roll.  So, I’ll be back and see you soon.  Until then, “Stay Strong and Craft on”!

Hugs and Blessings,
