Cards of Honor!

Hello Weekend-Crafters!

I intended to get this post done-up, last week, but family first and my lil grandkids were here on a visit, while their sister went into surgery.   All went Great  🙂

Man!  I remember running after lil kids being Much easier in my 20s, 30s and 40s….this Gramma is Whipped! lol    Now, it’s late…kiddlings all nestled in their beds, I’m going to post.  Here goes….

Speaking of family, and on a much sadder note, these Marine’s families lost their beloved sons and husbands.   When I heard the word through a facebook group requesting cards, I was so touch and wanted to help.

These are the cards I came up for them and I hope the families are blessed and I pray they find comfort.

Just if you want to recreate these and help send comfort, thoughts and prayers to our American troops, I will follow with a tutorial.

I made several variances of the card, but they all use the same supplies.  So let’s get started….

On the left is the white background and white “prayers”.  On the right is Black background and silver “prayers”.

I started with some bristol white paper and Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Fireworks dies, placing them more at the top of the paper in an array.

Then, with my Mini-distress inks,  Candied Apple and Mermaid Lagoon and  Alternating stripes, I took the mini pad and drug it crossed the paper.

[This same process was used on the matching envelopes].

This time, the card above has been matted with black on white and all the card fronts are bumped up with fun foam.

I finished the card up by spraying some Glitz shimmer spray and droplets all over and stamping ‘sending hugs and’ in black  and also used the  ‘Prayers’ die by Simon Says Stamp/Hero Arts.

If you would like to send cards and get involved please go HERE and Operation Gratitude.

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend and I’ll see you back here next week with another project.

Until then, “Stay Strong and Craft on”!

Hugs and Blessings,
