White Gardens Card-Masking and Bleaching VIDEO!

Well, hello everyone!  How’s your week going, so far?  Any crafting done?

These cards are some of my first layering cards , where I used the masking technique to layer the flowers to make a bouquet, using the Garden Treasures by Altenew.  Well, I masked these flowers, as well for this card [keep reading, video below].

I made three of these on different papers.  Including watercolor paper, neenah 80# and Bristol card stock.

Watercolor paper is used for the card in the photographs.  I used Canson XL, it takes on a lot of water and blends the ink very well.

I entered my card into the Altenew Inspiration Challenge and you can, too.  Just follow this Link.

June 2017 Inspiration Challenge – White On White Focal Point

I also, used the ‘bleaching’ technique to ‘bleach the center flower to white.  Many of you have requested a video showing this process.  It’s been a long time, but I put a vid together, tonight.  Hope you like it and it’s helpful?

To Watch video on YouTube click HERE!

To blend the inks I used a Clarity Brush and some blending tools from Tim Holtz.  The inks I used are Aged Mahogany, Victorian Velvet and Picket Fence.

My Altenew stamps were purchased at Kraftgali store.

I finished up with shimmer spritz all over my card…I just love the sparkle.

I’m totally loving this technique and the beautiful results.  I hope you’re inspired to try some of these cards!

Thank you, for visiting and please let me know if  you have any questions or would like to see a process video?…I’m here to help. 🙂

Hugs and Blessings,

My FIRST Layering Flower Bouquet Card!

eryone!   I hope you had a great week and looking to another crafty weekend?

If you are looking for my Father’s Day Cards they are HERE     and my Shark Birthday Card is HERE!

Now, I made these sweet Note cards to ‘Just Saying Hello’, for those times you just need to say Hello.

These cards were a bit of a challenge for me, since these are my First Layering Cards and speaking of Challenges I entered my card into the Altenew Inspiration Challenge and you can, too.  Just follow this Link.

June 2017 Inspiration Challenge – White On White Focal Point

My Card:

I choose to create a one layer card using Garden Treasure Stamp set by Altenew.

I made masks for the large flower, leaves and the small flower by cutting them out with my Scan n cut2, but you can stamp the impressions on masking paper and cut them out by hand.

Hello Ev

After stamping my images, using Altenew inks, I used my bone folder to crease the upper and lower sides, to make the ‘band’ .  This makes the image appear as if it’s raised up on the card.

Then, I  stamped and embossed  ‘Just Saying Hello’ sentiment, from the Painted Butterfly Stamp set by Altenew.

All my supplies were purchased at Kraftgali store.

Killer Shark Birthday Card and Stenciled Envelopes!

Hello and Welcome!

I first saw these cards on the Hero Arts blog and just knew they were Perfect for what I need!  aka: Huge family=Lots of Birthdays!

Thank  you Hero Arts and Michelle, for the inspiration 🙂

Now, I made 15 of these cards and I have to tell ya, every single one of them are unique.

I used Hero Arts new Killer Messages stamp set, which by the way has an ‘orca’ whale in it and it’s going to be part of another card coming up.

To create the front panel you just draw some waves and make a template.  I also, used distress inks and the waves stencil , to create the front panel and on the matching envelope flap and added a stamped shark fin in the corner of the envelope.

I’ve  entered this card in Simon Says Monday challenge Here!

Ahhh, what FUN this card is and so useful, too.

Father’s Day Cards with Embossed Acetate!

Hello Everyone and Welcome!

Father’s day is coming up and I want to share some cards I made for the men in my life.

I used products from  Concord & 9th,  Avery Elle and Altenew and Distress Oxide inks.  Plus, some Heat Resistant Acetate!

Now, you must know,  it’s a zoo around this place.  When I start a card I have an idea in my head and as I go along BAMMM another flies in and BAMM another and another!  You know what I’m talking about, right? 😉

I started out with Concord & 9th’s Triangle Turnabout stamp and inked up with my lightest color first and up to my darkest color, turning one click for each color.  I then set it aside and inked up another in a different color scheme.

The inks I used for the BLUE card:  Broken China OXIDE, Faded Jeans OXIDE, Altenew Industrial Diamond and Altenew Jet Black.
PURPLE card:  Wilted Violet OXIDE, Altenew Midnight Violet , Altenew Industrial Diamond and Altenew Jet Black.
GREEN card:  Altenew Volcano Lake, Altenew Lagoon , Altenew Industrial Diamond and Altenew Jet Black.

Then, after the pieces were all dry, I placed one-by-one  in  my ‘sparkle box’ and spritzed it with Glitzy Spritzy shimmer spray from Lindy’s Stamp Gang [any glitzy spray you have on hand will do].  That completes the turnabout stamping.

Now, onto the embossing-  I Cut  ‘Hot off the Press’ Heat Resistant Acetate.  In this case, for my A2 sized cards.  Make sure you leave enough at the top for a flap to fold over.

I put the acetate into my Stamp positioning tool and centered the large ‘Dad’ stamp.

*VERY IMPORTANT*  Use an anti-static tool all over the acetate!  You can wipe it clean with a tissue later.

Ink up your stamp with VersaMark and emboss with white embossing powder.  I used  Ranger, but any white embossing powder you have on hand will do.  I put my piece down flat on  my craftmat and heat embossed it.

I made multiple cards so I just left the stamp in there, until I was done with all of them.

Then, I heat embossed the three Avery Elle VELLUM envelopes in the same way.  These envelopes are heavy duty and do not wrap…they are a breeze to work with!  I’m totally going to mail these in the envelopes.

I’m real happy with my cards…I hope my guys are, too 🙂

Thank you, for visiting…please, let me know if  you have any questions…see ya soon 🙂

Hugs and Blessings,

Majestic Bloom Card Set!

Hello Everyone!

Yeppers, I’m back again with more cards to share with you [insert Smiles here]!

Have you ever just wanted to to reach for your inks and paper and just sail away to your crafty dreams?  Of course, you have!  [snickers]

Well, that’s what I did with just a few supplies and viola- these babies were born 🙂

Today’s cards, are created with Altenew Majestic Bloom stamp set.  The flourish on these layering stamps are A-mazing!

On each flower outline, I used Jet Black ink, by Altenew, 3 colors for each flourish layer and for the leaves I just used 2 colors of green- Olive and Moss.

In addition, I popped up the large flourish with 3D Foam tape, added sequins and crystals and Wink of Stella added shine to the leaves and bits of the flowers.

I also, made a Matching Envelope for each card.  By using coordinating stamps, this is a fun way to decorate your envelope!

On this gorgeous red bloom I used ink colors:  Blush, Rouge and Velvet!  I can’t say enough about these Inks, I used them on almost Every card I make!
The inks blend so well and I get stunning results 🙂

Beautiful Purple shades makes this flourish just Pop!  I used more Altenew inks in the shades of Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields and Deep Iris!

Now, to make thing go a bit FASTER, I used Gold paper [looks embossed doesn’t it…ha gotcha!]

Those ‘rain drops’ are really crystal clear dots from Pretty Pink Posh…love these and the lil bits really add interest.  Notice how they show through for a different effect every time?

This Beautiful floral was inked up with Altenew Gorgeous set Mountain Mist, Volcano Lake, and Lagoon inks….Ahhhh, I just love the names to these and of course the Amazing color they bring.

For this Beautiful Gold flourish I used Altenew’s Buttercream, Sunkissed and Warm Sunshine!

I’m really happy the way my cards came together and how EASY and FAST they were to make!

I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and get some Crafting in there, too 🙂

Hugs and Blessings,

My wreath card was so much Fun to create!

Using spectrum Noir sparkle pen, I added some shimmer and shine to each light bulb.

I embossed the sentiments in Ranger Red Geranium embossing powder.

Christmas Bulbs Confetti Card for Children’s Hospital!

Hi Everyone and Welcome!

Today, I have some special cards to share with you, using Sunny Studio Stamps!

You will see how Easy and Fast these are to make that you can whip up Many in no time at all.

Using Sunny Studio clear stamp sets  Merry Sentiments and Mug Hugs, I made several cards at a time, something I’ve challenged myself to do with Every card I make.  Why not, right?  It just takes just a few minutes more, while supplies are readily at hand.

I used several inks, mostly VersaColor Pigment inks from Imagine Crafts:  Lime, Royal Blue and Petal Pink.  Also, VersaFine Satin Red ink was used for my sentiments.  For the multi-layer bulbs I used the ink twice to get a darker top layer effect and sprayed Lindy’s Glitz Spritz Shimmer Spray all over the cards.

The stitched border dies really made my card pop!

These lovelies are going straight to our local Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Thank you for visiting …see you next time!

Hugs and Blessings,

CARDS for Children’s Hospital!

Hi there and Welcome!

KimberlyRae, here to share with you several cards I made for cancer patients and will be sending to my friend Melanie to give to the Hospital in Georgia.

For these cards I used my Gansi Tambi Watercolors and Altenew’s Bamboo Rose stamp set, on Bristol paper.    I absolutely love this ‘messy watercolor’  look!  The colors are so vibrant and happy.   I embossed each sentiment with Ranger Gold embossing powder on vellum and tried lots of different looks with colored papers.

Here, I used Gina Marie Scalloped frame dies, for my layering.

I’m also in the process of making all occasion cards for our Seattle Children’s Hospital, right here in my neck-of-the-woods, but I’ll post the Tacoma address, too.   There are a few guidelines to follow, such as:
-All kinds of homemade cards (mostly all seasons and birthdays) leave blank inside of cards so they can write a message themselves.
-No smoking
-No perfume
-No religious
-Few embellishments like buttons,  but okay with sequins and glimmer
-Can mail packages of cards anytime every month [whatever you want]

If you wish to contribute, please send your cards to:

Seattle Children Hospital
c/o Volunteer Services
4800 Sand Point Way NE
Seattle, WA 98105

Mary Bridge Children Hospital
c/o Alli Roff, Volunteer Services
315 MLK Jr Way
TACOMA, WA 98405

I have set a challenge for myself to make at least 20 cards a month to share with Seattle Children’s Hospital.   Will you Challenge yourself, too?

Thank you for visiting and as always have a fantastic crafty day!  See  you next time ????

Hugs and Blessings,

Altenew Challenge- “Shadow Flight” Card!

Hi there!  Today, I’m back with another card for this month’s Altenew Challenge. My first card is HERE.

To celebrate Fall, I’ve entered my card in the Altenew Inspiration Challenge  , going on through October 31st.
See the color palette below.  I’m sure you’ll agree these fall colors are just beautiful.

Here’s my 2nd card:

‘Shadow Flight’ by KimberlyRae

I really wanted to challenge myself creating something simplistic and see where that would go….So, I thought my butterfly needed a shadow.  I could have done this in many different ways, but I love the way the wood shadow came out, it makes the butterfly look like it’s in flight.  I used the Painted Butterflies DIE to create the shadow.

What’s so awesome, is the wood sheet is real wood.  Altenew, really sets  the standards of quality, with their exceptional products.  Such as their wood sheets and crisp dye inks.  I used crimson, dark chocolate, warm sunshine and butter cream inks to complete my project.

To make my botanical leafy background, I used ‘Peony Bouquet‘ stamp set and Forest Glades and Frayed Leaf Altenew inks and purposely off-centered the so to create some added interest.

Altenew, provides Beautiful, quality stamps just like ‘Painted Butterflies‘ and ‘Peony Bouquet‘ stamp sets,  I used to make my card with.

You still have time to enter your card, too.

Thank you for visiting and as always have a fantastic crafty day!  See  you next time 🙂

Hugs and Blessings,
