Essentials by Ellen March Pin-Sights Challenge- Card#2

Hello Again Y’all!

I’m back with my second card for a wonderful challenge!

For Tutorial scroll down.

20160323_173315-1

Ellen Hutson, is one of my favorite shops on the planet and I was inspired by the board below to enter her Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights Challenge for March.  Just take a look at this tranquil, yet classy pallet to create from.  Love, Love!

ellenhutsonEssentials

My Card was made from Essentials by Ellen Mondo Hydrangea, stamp set designed by Julie Ebersol.  I love it so much, I created two cards [go Here to see my first card].

I made a panel to go over stamped hydrangeas in black and embossed to match up with my panel.  I embossed those in Ranger Princess Gold and took a distress ink pad and saturated the panel.  I used a couple of ink pads here, they blended very well, just straight from ink pad to paper.

After, using my water brush I then used Tim Holtz distress inks to watercolor the flower petals, petals and leaf.  I also used fun foam to bump it up and adhered to  the card-base.

For the ‘Thinking of You’ sentiment [from the same stamp set], I used Versafine black ink and embossed with Ranger clear embossing powder and I love how it’s off to the side and matches up to the bumped up panel!

20160323_215555

I used the same Tim Holtz distress inks to ‘paint’ the flower petals, stem and leaf.

To finish it off, I  used my black gel pen and filled in the petal centers.

20160323_215543

I sure had a ton of Fun making these cards and participating in this challenge.

Thank you for stopping by!  Please, visit soon to see what else I’m up to:)

Essentials by Ellen March Pin-Sights Challenge

Hello Everyone!

Today, I’d like to share a wonderful challenge with you.  Ellen Hutson, is one of my favorite shops on the planet and I was inspired by the board below to enter her Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights Challenge for March.  Just take a look at this tranquil, yet classy pallet to create from.  Love, Love!

My project was made from my only Essentials by Ellen stamp set.  It’s called Mondo Hydrangea, designed by Julie Ebersol.  I love it so much, I created two cards
[click Here to see my second card] .

The first card, I used the Mondo Hydrangea Die and partially die cut at the top of the flower.  Then, I embossed in Ranger Princess Gold

20160323_174121-1

I used Tim Holtz distress inks to watercolor the flower petals, petals and leaf.  I also used craft fun foam to bump it up and adhered to  the card-base.

For the ‘Thinking of You’ sentiment [from the same stamp set], I used Versafine black ink and embossed with Ranger clear embossing powder.

I used the same Tim Holtz distress inks to ‘paint’ the flower petals, stem and leaf.

20160323_215437

For dimension and frankly by habit..lol, I curled the petals with a paintbrush.

20160323_215430

To finish it off, I  used my black gel pen and filled in the petal centers.

Thanksgiving “Harvest Happiness” Card Set!

Hello Crafty Peoples!  [yep, that’s You sweet crafter]  And Welcome 🙂

I’ve been busy making Thanksgiving/Fall Cards and having so much fun coloring these images from Sunny Studio Stamps “Harvest Happiness‘ stamp set. ♥

HappyThanksgivingACardbyKimberlyRaeWEB

Well, these three festive guys include the Native owl, Pilgrim owl and ole Tom Turkey are full of cuteness and irresistible!  I colored them with my Zig Real Brush Markers and man do these markers blend so well!  I highlighted the hat buckle, turkey feathers and pumpkin stems with Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush.

HappyThanksgivingPCardbyKimberlyRaeWEB

The stamp kit comes with several sweet sentiments, a lil heart [not shown], a image smiley face [not shown] and maple and oak leaves, which I love.  The Pumpkins and leaves are Stitched.

For my cardbase, I originally went with a Kraft, but they were pre-made and too small.  So, I got out my 110# Cardstock and made my own and inked up just the edges to make an edge of color with Wild Honey distress ink and went lightly on the blender so there was an illusion of white border….it’s that easy, for this look!

To finish off this set, I added stamped Pumpkins on the envelopes.  You can see them in this photo, on the left.

HappyThanksgivingCards1byKimberlyRaeWEB

Let me know if  you’d like a complete list of specific colors of inks and Zigs I used….?

As always, thank you for stopping by!   Have an Awesome Crafty weekend 🙂

Altenew “Hello” Card-Lesson 8

Well “Hello” Everyone!

Altenew’s wonderful informative ‘All About Layering” Classes are still going on and more  homework.

Here’s my homework card.  I had so much Fun making it and going crazy with different techniques and I love it!

PaintedFlowersHELLOCardAbyKimberlyRaeWEB

I used Altenew’s ‘Painted Flowers’ and ‘Super Script’ stamp sets.   The inks I used were Frayed Leaf, Forest Glader, Ruby Red, Coral Berry and Cotton Candy.

First, For the detail flowers I watercolored from the inks the largest flower and leaves and then stamped and embossed the last layer, in a unexpected bright pink.

The two smaller flowers and leaves, I stamped with the inks mentioned above and I just love how the layers look artsy fussy!!

I used the same watercolor the background and embossed all over it .

PaintedFlowersHELLOCardClose2byKimberlyRaeWEB

To get the torn layer of gold, I tore the paper [l o v e this] and versamarked the edge and threw some gold embossing powder on it and Boom, you’ve got a really great torn gold textured layer!

Then, I adhered that layer to the pink watercolor layer and then that layer to an A2 card base I made out of a 110# sheet of 8.5×11″ paper.

PaintedFlowersHELLOCardClosebyKimberlyRaeWEB

Altenew Painted Flowers-Layered Stamping!

Hello Everyone!

It’s been one busy mama jamma week and I’ve been trying so much, this week, to make time and watch the Altenew Academy’s Class Videos and Instructionals.

I absolutely adore stamp layering and finally jumped on my hour of free time and made a single-sided [postcard] style card.  I have to admit I wasn’t going to show my card to the world, it certainly not “perfect”, but I wanted to post in the Class Gallery.  So here it is! 🙂

AwesomeCardbyKimberlyRaeWEB

I used Altenew’s “Painted Flowers” Stamp Set and several of their inks to create my card.

For the flowers, I used Peach Perfect, Dark Chocolate and Jet Black.  Leaves, I used Frayed Leaf and Forest Gladder.

When I was finished stamping all my flowers,  I sprinkled, with paint brush some of the Chocolate and Peach color ink onto it.

AwesomeSingleSideCardClosebyKimberlyRaeWEB

For my sentiment, I used Altenew’s “Label Love” stamp set, inked it up with Dark Chocolate ink and bumped it up a bit with 3D foam squares.  Then, I drew around the white border with black marker.

AwesomeSingleSideCardbyKimberlyRaeWEB

For the background I clustered four of the smaller sketched flowers onto a stamp block and randomly stamped the flowers onto the same white card stock and adhered it to the backside of my finished flowers.

I know my flowers aren’t perfect, but I sure had a ton of fun creating this card and using Altenew quality products!

Ok all, come on over and join me attending FREE classes, “All About Layering” and try Stamp Layering!

Zig Real Brush Marker Floral Beauty Card and Tutorial!

Hello Everyone!

Lately, I’ve been playing catch-up blogging!  It dawned on me brain cell that I hadn’t blogged a bunch of  cards I made over the last few months and maybe, just Maybe someone might be inspired by them or some of the TIPs of mine….who knows?

Anyhow, here’s one of the first cards I made after I got my Zig Real Brush Markers!  And Boy, do I Enjoy these things to bits!

HappyBirthdayButterflyFloralbyKimberlyRaeWEB

Posted to Virginia’s View Challenge –>  There’s still time to enter 🙂

To make my card I started with an A2 size card base I made from Carta Bella’s White Linen 80#  card stock.

Then, I used my Butterfly Die and cut some of my favorite water color paper and stamped my butterfly onto the paper with Memento Black Tux Ink.

I colored my butterfly with my Zig Real Brush Markers and Zig Detail brush.  I added a hint of sparkle with my wink of stella clear brush and sat it aside to dry.

I made my background with MFT  ‘Modern Blooms’ stamp set and tossed the all the flowers crossed the paper to make a vibrant splash of color.

To make my sentiment I used MFT “Written in Watercolor”and embossed it crossed the edge of the vellum and the flowers!
TIP:  I used vellum here to subdue the boldness of the color flowers, so the Butterfly would shine!

Boom and it’s a ‘Happy Birthday’ Card for my Sister!

ALTENEW-Celebrate Layered Floral Card!

Hello Everyone!

This is KimberlyRae with a beautiful card I made with Altenew’s Vintage flowers layered stamps!

I totally Adore Every one of Altenew’s  layered stamps and Crisp Inks… They all just make me feel Happy!!

Celebrate_AltenewbyKimberlyRae

I used two of the smaller flowers of the bunch, to make my flower background!

For the inks, I used Altenew Frosty Pink, Coral Berry and Ruby Red;  in that order for the Pink flowers and Butter Cream, Warm Sunshine and Caramel Toffee, for the yellow flowers.  I have to say Altenew has made the layering process very Easy with their Crisp Inks.   Oh!  Look for new colors of inks coming October 2nd just around the corner guys…look for the release! Yay!!

Celebrate_AltenewC3byKimberlyRae

TIP:  When layering my colors I stamped the bottom layer first, with the lightest color.  Then, using the middle stamp I placed it on-top of the bottom stamp so it perfectly lines up.  Then, separately stamped the little center of each flower.

To make my flower gold accents I  used a tiny flower from the same Stamp set!  [see below, in my supplies list for details].

Then, I trimmed the two outer panels to 1.5″ and the center panel to 2″ and adhered to my card base with 3d foam tape.

Celebrate_AltenewClosebyKimberlyRae

I stamped my sentiment from Altenew’s Super Script stamp set with VersaMark Ink and embossed with Gold embossing powder.  I then,  used my Scan N Cut2 Cutter to cut out the word celebrate and also a vellum shadow that I adhered to the back of my sentiment.  I think the Vellum really made my sentiment pop!

Creating with Altenew stamps makes me feel that I have made something beautiful!

Sea Critter Watercolor Gift Tags!

Hello!

I’ve been taking some time to really explore the brand New Stamp Sets and SVG Kits by Fleurette Bloom [FB] and I must say they are just so much Fun!  I used Rockin Quick CARDS SVG kit and Sea Critters Stamp Set to make my Gift Tags.  These Tags are going to work Perfectly to gift my sewing project [to reveal in another post].

FBSeaCrittersStampSetTAG1byKimberlyRaeWEB

I especially like how Flawless they stamp out and the ease it takes with just one press.  I used Versa Mark ink and then a Dye ink over that to get the colored stamped images and heat set it with my heat tool.

To make the background for all my tags I used various Distress inks and also sprinkled the ink with a wet brush onto the paper while it was damp and then heat dried it. Using the Sea Critters Stamp Set, I stamped a bunch of bubbles in different sizes onto watercolor paper.   Love how these backgrounds came to life!

FBSeaCrittersStampSetTAGTurtlebyKimberlyRaeWEB

Then, I use Zig Real Brush Markers to watercolor the stamped images. I love the look!!   Have you given the Zig Real Brushes a try yet?  I know you will love them as much as I do.  Below, I ‘ve link to several packs including a starter 12-pack.

FBSeaCrittersStampSetTAGFishbyKimberlyRaeWEB

Now, you must know I’m not a professional stamper, But I do Love the art of stamping and watercoloring and I’m having a lot of Fun with it all!  With that being said, you will see I’ve went out of the lines in some places, but I think that’s ok….let’s call it Character for these sweet images! ha

Lesson learned: [color After image is cut out] When cutting my stamped images and “Tags” from the Rockin Quick CARDS Svg set, my Scan N Cut2  found every edge and it was very Easy to cut my stamped images out.  I had to giggle–it even found my ‘character’ flaws and so eloquently went around them [see sea star]! LOL!!  So Much Fun!

FBSeaCrittersStampSetTAGOctopbyKimberlyRaeWEB

To finish up my Sea Critters I used some Wink of Stella Clear here and there on the Sea Star, Octopus and the fish’s fins.

I hope you give this FUN Stamp set a go.   All the supplies I used are listed below for your quick review.

Be sure to Hop on over to Fleurette Bloom Designs to get your Sea Critters STAMP Set and with a purchase of only $8.98 you will get the Rockin Quick CARDS Kit  FREE!!

Thank you for stopping by!  Please, visit soon to see what else I’m up to 🙂
