Christmas Advent Calendar!

Today, is another exciting day to share another of my Carta Bella DT projects created with the so GoR-Jussss  Carta Bella’s ‘So This is Christmas’ Collection!

My Christmas Advent Calendar can stand on a mantel or hang on the wall!

I can’t wait to decorate and place this sweet piece, in my home!

When creating this darling, I paid close attention for every significant day to our family and placed a piece that represented that day.   For example:  putting up the tree on the 1st and opening ONE present on Christmas Eve.  You can personalize as you wish :)  You can even cut out say the 18th square and sew it on Before adhering to the frame and place a piece under it and make a  button closure….wheeee so much FUN!

Stickers and Buttons make a Great festive cluster to demonstrate for us we open One present on the 24th of December.

Here shows the side…I just loveeeeeee Carta Bella‘s Fun and unexpected designs! Wow!

It’s all in the ‘layers’!!  A close up on the layers to this piece.  I liked all the brads and stickers you can layer on the chipboard stickers.  I think the chipboard stickers really make my piece look rich in dimension.

I used Lori Whitlock’s Frame and cut 8 pieces…four of the pieces I  used for the outside of the frame and the other four I used to brace the inside before placing the 12×12 paper on the front and one of the back.

Carta Bella’s papers are so quality and textured and awesome that lend to making the piece very sturdy…no pebbles required but if  you want to put some in the bottom do it at this point of creation.

Advent-Calendar-Collage-Home-DecTrim

Make sure to trim to 12×12 and adhere on the face of the frame.  Choose another paper and trim to 12×12 and adhere to the back of the frame.

I used ‘Green Shimmer’ twine by The Twinery to wrap my advent calendar all up like a present!  Decorate to your heart’s content and your done!  That EASY!

Head on over to numberswiki.com

I Cut 14 sets of the SMALLER three petals, keeping proportions [do Not resize]. These Larger flowers will make up the top of your topiary. For the Smaller flowers- reduce size to 2" and I used papers from the collection’s 6×6 pack and places three different papers on my mat, using my Silhouette Cameo. PointsettaTopiary3CARD1byKimberlyRae Oh my geezers! I can’t even begin to tell you how convenient this is…well yes, I can! Take a Look..see All on ONE Mat and oh see easy to lift them up and I put mine in baggies until I was ready to assemble the darlings! PointsettaTopiary3CARDbyKimberlyRae To Create your flowers, start inking them up! I used Memento inks any will do. Pay special attention inking the centers…get creative with blending the ink! Wheee! PointsettaTopiaryPETALSbyKimberlyRae Then, with the end of any paint brush curl each petal. With the same paint brush and a mouse pad shape your flower petals and glue layering three petals off center of the next. They should look similar to the one on the left in the above photo. PointsettaTopiaryGlitterbyKimberlyRae Once they are dried I added some Martha Stewart medium flake glitter for a snowy effect…Loveeeeeee this! Then, I used my Crop-a-dile to make a hole in each flower center and added Brads, also from the collection. I also, added the yellow flower centers on some of the flowers with smaller brads. Set your flowers aside. Next, I started painting my dowel white. TIP: Cut the tips to a point and they went into the 4" styrofoam ball Great! PointsettaTopiarySTICKbyKimberlyRae Locate and Cut all pieces to the Terra cotta pot SVG kit. Glue all the pieces together. I made an extra piece to close in the top [optional] I placed Pebbles in the bottom so not to fall over [top heavy] and filled the pot with Green Flower Florist spongy stuff…lol called Dry Foam. Pack in quite tight. PointsettaTopiaryPETALCLOSEbyKimberlyRae Then, I placed my painted dowel into to the styrofoam ball and then into the Dry foam in the pot. From there, I put my made paper shape on top [you can decorate with shredded paper or whatnot, too. PointsettaTopiaryCLUSTERCLOSEEbyKimberlyRae From there, I hot glued my large flowers on and used my small flowers, coordinating brads and Chipboard stickers. PointsettaTopiarybyKimberlyRae I love it and can’t wait to place it somewhere special for the holidays! WooT! Also, you can use the same idea for a Spring, Fall or Baby Showers and Weddings!!
